in the past two days i’ve purchased, on vinyl, earth crisis “destroy the
machines” and prince “all around the world in a day”. DTM has the “reject
the anthropocentric falsehood” song, and AATWIAD has raspberry beret, and
both albums are made by vegans (although josh the bunny boy claims to have
sold the guy from earth crisis a pizza in the mid nineties). i wish i wish
i was into prince two months ago, i could’ve seen him at the
getlaidium.
oh yeah, see cat and bird hospital spazzing out on tv this
week, on the very cable access “video jam” channel 13. today and friday at
12:30 in the afternoon, saturday at 11 at night. can someone tape
this? neither greg nor i get cable.
arrgh! geocities put up some sort of blocker to prevent people from
linking to pictures from offsite (the way i do for the
href="http://www.nindy.com/jacob/pics">photobook). anyone know a good
place to put lots of stuff
href="mailto:idontdigbigpigbucks@fujichia.com">for no bucks?
for some reason i’ve been thinking about
href="http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Labyrinth/5357/">the scarlet
witch. she married a robot, her father is magneto, she was raised by
gypsies, her superpower was ripped off from hitchhiker’s guide &tc.. ok
but
here’s the nut: she has red hair and a red and pink costume! convention
dictates this is just wrong, which makes it so right.
fashion, as my friend monica the model will tell you, is the history of
people doing things wrong and working it. she gets jobs by showing up at
the agency in a kilt and an XXL mohair sweater with cranberry juice on it,
and all the other wannabe models are in pepe jeans and like “whut’s up
with huhh?” and she’s like “c-ya!” as reps go ga-ga and push papers at
her. I LOVE IT. andrea spraypainting her sneakers and t-shirts. matt
hallas spraypainting his hair. allyssa (and baby jeremy) wearing plaid
button-up shirts under t-shirts. nick and holmes dressing like worcester
1988. will getting laughed at by the girl at the register for buying size
4 faux snakeskin pants at building 19. lisa lisa having green hair in the
ultracool timeslot after green day and before the for-sure green day
revival of 2005. these are my fashionable friends and they all dress
wrong. wrong! (conversation with
my mom- alb: does anybody
say bad (meaning good) anymore? jpb: no, which means it’s the perfect time
to start..).
oh yeah, this isn’t just a ploy to get people to wear their bathing suits
outside of their pants, but at the same time, it’s not not a ploy.
pending the actual printing (which will go down this afters) the new issue
of interview with a
frankenstein is out. it is now
href="http://www.fujichia.com/catalog.html">orderable for a slim
dollar, plus a stamp for you out-of-reachers. it may be the best yet, so
hooray and what a debacle i just don’t want to talk about yet.
happy this weekend was the collective a go-go open mic, playing
“say mister have you met rosie’s sister” on the ukulele, and leonardr’s
“
href="http://www.crummy.com/music/nst/mp3/16-Don't%20Leave%20Me%20Here%20(Over%20There%20Would%20Be%20Fine).mp3">don’t
leave me here (over there would be fine)” with everyone doo-wopping
along. also chocolate french toast party with samia and cool breeze, and
finding out that samia’s friends with the kid from old skull
(true!). sad was finding an old game of M.A.S.H. from 6th grade in
which i marry a girl i still have a crush on and we have 72 kids, i drive
a skateboard and we live in the 7th dimension of hell. 7th circle really
isn’t so bad, company-wise– sure you’ve got violent against others, but
mostly it’s flatterers, frauds, counterfeiters, alchemists, magicians,
sodomites, blasphemers and suicides. 72 kids isn’t so tough either, when
you consider that we’d probably be in hell for eternity or close to
it. the sad part comes when i realize that she would probably cross to
the other side of the street if she saw me and there’s nothing i can do
about it.
catch phrases are catch phrases but as far as catch phrases go, “
href="http://rmitz.org/AYB3.swf">all your base are belong to us” is up
there.
I’ve jsut learned that “
href="http://www.nindy.com/jacob/pics/a404.html">Jacob” is the second
most popular
href="http://www.cherishedmoments.com/most-popular-baby-names.htm">baby
name. last year it made a jump to number one, beating out odds-on
favorite Micheal, tying with Emily. what’s more is,
href="http://www.babycenter.com/babyname/states/">i’m batting
clean-up. of course, that’s just babies.
href="http://www.census.gov/genealogy/names/dist.male.first">overall i
still rank behind glenn, marvin, and norman. and worldwide, i bet mohammed
still rocks everyone. still, being made privvy to all this new information
makes it more and more likely that i will make a frivolous
cool-breeze-esque
href="http://www.namechangelaw.com/states/ma/massachusetts.htm">name
change to Dracula VonFrankenstein. oh, and i know that no one cares
about this but my mom but joke’s on you because me mom reads this page
every day.
so the grammys were last night, and all the big stuff about eminem
performing (with elton john no less) resulted in the president of the
academy of recording arts (or whatever) giving a speech immediately
preceding the act. what’s great is that the speech essentially said,
“listen, we’re not really awarding things based on whether the artists are
actually good or not. we’re awarding things based on popularity, and
controversy is popularity.”. so who cares about the grammys anyway.
for those of you who didn’t catch it, here’s the
href="http://www.fujichia.com/jpb/autoreverse.html">interview i did
for autoreverse magazine. i re-edited it to more closely resemble the
original interview i gave, because i’m like that.
hi and lois really is one of my favorite current comic strips. remeber
when they were inexplicably ants? WTF? and a couple times they’ve been
really depressing and wrought (or maybe frought) with ennui. also, MAD
magazine has started accepting adds. also, mad magazine is no longer
great. i was at jer’s reading old
href="http://www.redtimes.com/spy/01/">spy vs spys a few days
ago. prohias, dave
berg, al jaffee, sergio aragones, mort drucker, jack davis,
href="http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Stargate/9043/dm.htm">don martin
(even though he later defected to cracked)… this is the dream team.
so i got a new (different crappy) computer at work, which made me realize
that my page looks like isht on a smaller screen, so i reiterate a
plea:
href="mailto:you_will_get_ripped_off_in_egypt_ohhhhhhhh@fujichia.com">tell
me if i’m coming in bad!
hooray for long weekends and working in schools! sleeping late and making
collages and eating cereal and playing drums! dinner at the pickle barrel
with mary muff! woo!
i saw dj spooky last night and left in the middle. he just played party
jams with lots of digital delay tricks on top. and i can’t listen to his
album (which i did not pay full price for) because i can’t get past the
second cut. and he used the same quote from “medium is the massage” as i
did in my yearbook quote! dalek and mc paul barman opened, and that was
fun. dalek’s dj (who i did not say hi to for
href="http://www.nindy.com/jacob/pics/a227.html">tim) is or was
href="http://www.nindy.com/jacob/pics/a230.html">jason skonieczny’s
roommate. and mcpb had a song called “anarchist bookstore” that was more
or less on point.
bob from phil instructs me to tell you that he has a newer web page for
his rock band phil and it’s clicktoable from
href="http://www.alienwebshop.com/phil/">this link.
oh man. the new greg greg page is
up, replete with a bio and a new edition of
href="http://www.fujichia.com/gg/02.html">ask greg greg. hooray! more
stories will be put up as he write them.
the new issue of autoreverse just came out (with my
href="http://www.fujichia.com/autointerview.txt">interview in it) but
you can’t buy it because
it’s the last issue and it’s only given away to people who are in it,
like me. incidentally, a reasonably-sized “nuts to you” goes out to ian
autoreverse for saying (in a review of the
href="http://www.fujichia.com/iwaf/iwafai.html">iw/af audio issue
#101) i
sound like
moby when i talk. knows how to push my buttons, that ian autoreverse.
the garrison show at clark was really good last night. they played my two
favorite songs- the “right now i’d rather be dead” one and the “people
here don’t cry” one (which is about worcester and the wag and the space
and all that). i was actually nervous going into the show, and talking to
ed mcnamara (the Space basically grew from his practice space). i felt
guilty. about what happened to the space, about the worcester music scene
in general, about my current lack of energy, about talking big for a while
and not knowing really anything. i was really fretting about it. then i
thought about the puppet show last sunday, and something they said about
how sometimes a forest catches fire and that’s the best thing for the
future of the mountain. i feel almost ready now, for the first time.
