the french fry under the ketchup pile- guilty pleasure or secret fear? i’m working on “poetry” for the womag (local free weekly). i put “poetry” in scare quotes because i’m a skeptopotomus poeticus. my poem already has the phrase “aegis-bearing zeus”, thank you very much.

my dreams are getting more and more vivid, convoluted, and insane. last
night’s dream within a dream was west coast fan club president eileen wu
flying out of a huge aquarium like a dolphin, being followed into the air
by an enourmous shark (that was trying to kill me) and punching it square
in the face as she was on the way down (and it on the way
up). thanks! then i woke up with a start and i was late for a
movie. despondently, i rode my bike through the supermarket. then i woke
up for real, and what’s more i woke up early. maybe this isn’t as good as
the cool
breeze shark dream
, but it’s way better than yester-afternoon’s nap
dream
of having a tremendous, debilitating foot cramp. i wake up- no foot cramp. WTF?

i’m psyched because jeff schaefer is making me a metal mix tape. the more i learn about insane metal, the more i like it. speaking of insane metal, (?) don’t go to fort worcester- it’s totally getting torn down in 2 weeks. twwoooowwwoooo weeeeaaaaoooeeeekkkksssss!

ok, so me and DCHCA were in fort worcester… in a part no one had ever been in… there were no tags, draculas or mermaids… and we found… … … …an abandoned sousaphone. we didn’t get it out, and what’s more, we were forcibly ejected (so don’t go there anymore, pisspants). who is person enough to find it under cover of night and retrieve it indiana jones-style? vast expanse, broken glass, 6×6 the magic pig, forklift, plywood wall, (not in that order) then downstairs.

i bought black black at the korean market. “triple combination hi-tech chewing gum” says the wrapper and i concur. pricey but worth it. unless you don’t like gum that tastes weird and has large amounts caffeine and nicotine in in it. they probably chew this gum all the time at wired magazine. and on the set of “hackers”.

hey andy! look at these leonard richardson songs. also, have you considered changing your name to “the arossexperience.com“? also, jeff lynne rock opera

leonard draws my attention to this salon article on href="http://www.salon.com/tech/feature/2001/03/22/hipsters/">advertisers
catering to hipsters vs. “average joes”. this is the most upsetting
thing in it, describing a marketing report:

“Asked for
their
“turn-offs,” trendsetters cited Limp Bizkit, the South Pole and “the Gap
empire.” Mainstreamers named Grape-Nuts and
Pepto-Bismol.”

I’m with
you
both on items 1,3, and 5, but what’s wrong with the south pole? href="http://www.yellow5.com/pokey/">penguins live there! and i
like
grape
nuts
! jeez, give it a shot! incidentally, i love how that grape nuts page calls them “tremendously popular”. also, while searching for that, i found this pretty good cereal addicts page. proof of goodness: they resist the “cereal killers” pun.

yesterday i cut handsome matt’s hair and tried to make a beard out of the castoffs. unfortunately the tape wasn’t sticky enough. it bothers me that nothing constructive can be done with hair- one puts so much effort into growing it, keeping it healthy &tc.. can’t we make yarn or something? if you think this is gross, just think about how close your own hair is to your eyes and mouth right now.

last night was a worcester global action network meeting, before which my pal donny and i raided a soiree and got free rum and cokes. once again, rewards for thems that takes ‘em. also, i checked my local kay-bee for discounted vomiting jabbas but found nary a one. i’m not crying over spilt milk, i’m just saying: an effort was made to redress (word?).

i’ve been really weird lately- trying to figure out where to live this summer, and subsequently this fall, and so on and so forth. i know i have to quit this dirty old town, that’s pretty evident.

  1. saturday i went to a birthday party whose theme was “cowboys and dinosaurs”. as could be expected, too many cowboys, not enough dinosaurs.

  2. email from oldest friend eric bennett sums up the general condition- “I’m in the middle of shooting a movie and I just started writing a novel. …I got some sea monkeys, but I was gone for a week and now most of them are dead.”

oh yeah, vote for me, feisel (sic) and misison sequence life in the phoneix poll or i’ll fustigate ye.

explorespacenotdrugs.com. also, me and some dudes went to see the shining yesterday at the bijou and it reminded me how good it is to throw a tennis ball against a big wall. also how awesome it would be to tool around a huge, ornate hotel on a big wheel. plus it’s a rad movie.

ok, if you live in worcester you absolutely have to vote for me in the bost^H^H^H^Hworcester phoenix best music poll. i’m actually on the ballot this time. it’s way better to actually get a physical copy and send it in, rather than do the online version, because i think they may have a tendancy to discard the online stuff (this prognosis has no basis in actual fact). but if you’re out of town or you know you’ll never make it to the post office, please do fill it out online, but be sure an enter your real name and address and email. i don’t think they accept ballots from out-of-towners. also, be sure and vote mission sequence: life for best punk band, feisel (sic) best hardcore (sic) band, and if you really want to go above and beyond the call of duty, write-in cat and bird hospital for best folk act.
