boy does time fly. sunday dinenr party at number one’s house, monday picked up adam “see see” ryder and dave (i’ll come up with a clever pun middle name for dave when i learn his last name) then played some monster bash pinball and atomic punk 2 at playoff, bought a religious ventriloquist record and a tony robbins subliminal power cd at the salvo and then the rest of my day was hilarious too but more on that later. tuesday ight was another free school, this one taught by rachel on the topic of basic bike maintenance. lots of heads showed up, so that was fun. after the class, everybody rocked out on the ew collective a go-go sport- rope boarding. inside the barn we have a rope swing and at the end of the rope is a skateboard deck (no wheels) so that’s rope boarding. things got silly. i earned the subtitle “the rodney mullen of rope-boarding” by inventing the flip trick. melissa number one dropped in from the second story of the barn and i almost wet my pants. we had to retire the board after that, because it was such a momentous thing. so she signed it and i nailed it into the wall. i’m really happy about number one. i feel like she’s blossoming into a super criminal. i’m really happy about all my friends. after rope boarding they went off on some adventure and i tried fruitlessly to make some phone calls. wednesday was a nothing day. thursday i broke fast with my homies at the miss worcester (one of this town’s man fine diners), then hung out at my mom’s house reading old mad magazines and spending some qt with neglected tchotchkies and gee gaws and taking showers. last night i was planning all this work i was gonna do, then i made the mistake of reading my horoscope in the newspaper. “get out of the house even if you feel like staying home”, also “join a group”, a sentiment mirrored in cool breeze’s horoscope as well. so we sat around and called people, looking for groups to join to no avail, and ended up just sitting aroud reading sandman comic books waiting for something to happen. boo!

tonight the handles play at clark at 11:00 pm, but more importantly, daniel johnston is playing at the middle east in boston! urgent! if you want to go to this show call me! especially if you have a car! i might take the train in alone but i on’t know if i can handle that. but harrison jack schmitt! call me!

oh yeah, if you’re in a store that sells thai pop (music), or riding in the green suburu outback with jeremy bruce, get the zaza tape. almost every jam is the jam. an added bonus is that probably no one you know will be able to sing along- you will have to find other avenues of enjoyment.

my thanksgiving was pretty good. first i ate dinner with my mom and uncle karl at st. luke’s church (home of father david, crime fighting holy man w/robotic arm & laser eyes). then i proceeded to nick’s dad’s for thanksgiving dos and pieces of pie dos tres cuartro y cinco. then me and nicky went to the bijou where i saw mullholland drive (the new dave lynch movie) again. i really like it. friday i saw the fellas and the fillies from high school days and we maxed and re-laxed. today me and jer and nick and tiffiniy and worcester’s naomi fox (or, as andy has coined, WoNaFo) went to see “the wash” at showcase north.

a couple factors are at play in my life to rekindle my interest in vampira, or to up it from a fascination to a long fascination. i’ve been shirking a responsibilty (at least one anyway) so to spur me into action i’ve done cut my luxurious hair. i’m at nick’s. he’s asleep. i’m going to take a shower. that’s not the responsibility.

so friday night we did indeed stop by and visit a reticent fan and clark
alum in the freshman dorm. in this instance crummy being down (according
to leonardr’s back-up site,
the work of actual malicious hackers) paid off because the photobook’s
inaccessability resulted in our poor chap not know what i look like, and
me being able to spring one on him (figuratively).

matt smith is helping me remember what happened last weekend. apparently, there was a big party for little andrew (who hates parties and birthdays)’s birthday, at which i had a blast. it was yet another punk rock singalong, so no complaints from me. i stayed up until 6am watching the meteor shower. one night (but who’s to say which one?) we watched the big trouble in litle china dvd on a big sheet, courtesy of a housemate’s new projection tv. best part- the music video, featuring john carpenter’s band (!) “the coup devilles”. oh yeah, i got my 1″ button maker, and started making tonnes of buttons. er, badges. i’ll put together a catalog soon enough. so far i’ve got biz markie, e. a. poe, borges, un chien andalou, lon chaney (as the phantom), spike jones (the bandleader, you vidiots), and vincent price. soon enough i’ll be making buttons to sell for preposterous amounts on ebay. suggestions welcome. and if you want to order bulk pins (like, more than 50), i can make them for $.25 apiece oboy! oh, and i hung out with jer and had a series of great talks. woo hoo! jaybird! still i doubt that existance is suffering.

so it’s true that i bailed on a possible book club ride tonight so that i could be irritable around others. seems like something i’m prone to do, despite having said earlier that i’m doing great (which for the most part is true).

oh yeah, with the proliferation of voice mail systems, does anyone out there in the land have an old (or prefereably new) answering machine i could have? i need the kind that uses tapes (regular or micro) and has the ability to record very long outgoing messages. the reason? i am turning the otherwise unused computer telephone line at my house into a dial-a-song / activity line. in addition to being a great non-internet time killer, this will enable you (the fan) to leave sound messages for me (the artist), which i may very well work into a song and put on an album and pay you nothing! come on, this is a great idea!

man, i think i got dissed by jbruce. he called me two weeks (twooooo weeeeeeeekssssss) ago to tell me that he was out of silent meditation and that he would be in warm town in a manner of days and we could hang out. two weeks and i’ve heard nary a peep more! i try calling and calling his mom’s house to no avail. man, fuck that shit if it means not being in the world! call me on the motherfucking phone you nut! geepers creepers! we (nick and i) love you and we’re worried that (in a nutshell) you’re becoming less and less fun and more and more serious and fake wise. it’s a tough spot to defend, because it would invariably depend upon trying to define “the old jer” (if we are in such a sad state that such a construction even exists) and not only is that impossible but that’s one of the things we love so dearly. don’t think i won’t kidnap you. i will. i will so kidnap you and make you eat mexican food and play video games. didn’t you learn yet that separation is pain? if not, what the fuck are you doing all day in that place?

everybody, thanks for understanding.

“My mother and her boyfriend HAD a million-dolla-dolla
love-nest in Newton until this morning, when it burned
down….ain’t life grand? Thankfully, she’s alright.
She ran out of her house in her underwear, with my
copy of Make Way for Ducklings under her arm…the
only relic that survived.”

thanksgiving, possibly my favorite holiday (a non-religious non-governmental feast for the sake of feasting) has been curtailed this year, due to the fact that my family’s ordinary thanksgiving host uncle joe-l is taking his family sailing around the caribbean for multiple months, including the month of thanksgiving (this month). nuts! as a replacement activity, i am thinking about edging my way into nick’s family’s event. i haven’t heard from nick on this subject (or any other- nick, are you ok?) but i figure i’m entitled to it. with the exception of nick’s dad’s new wife’s kids (and new little baby god bless him/her) i’ve spent at least an hour of qt with each family member. this includes but not is not limited to murbur, nomie, kathy, s. paul, tutu, uncle doug, kathy, tiger (real name not currently recallable), and princess (rnncr). those whose names i don’t know i can identify due to tribal markings (and volvos). come on, pass the cranberry sauce! i’ll eat non-vegan dishes, i’ll even use deoderant. i’ve got my own shelf in the kitchen for the love of mike!

so… saturday i… have no recollection of what happened (regular readers may note that my memory is so poor i cannot remember anything unless i write it down quickly. clearly i have failed. anyone with any knowledge of saturday’s activities, please help, bearing in mind that i might not know if you are lying.).

sunday morning the go go (my house) had it’s second monthly brunch spectacular, which went (as peugot matt coe would say) swimmingly. homemade soy milk, soysauge, tofu scramble, applesauce pancakes– a litany of vegan breakfast delights. monday was a work day- i raked and put up speakers and stuff. tuesday i made a new silkscreen, plus a little zine about silk screening, plus taught my fun class which went pretty good, even though i still mess up all the time silkscreening. dan wars told me that i seem glum. really, i’m not. i’m elated to not be working, and to be puttering around the house, and thinking up songs. work is almost complete on the fightertown usa (dewey street) / collective a go-go housefight tape. i think it’s going to be really good, with one side being songs by people at my house, the other side being songs by people at 210 dewey (which includes little andrew, handsome matt, jeff schaeffer, gondo, p. matt coe, and special guests, me and cool breeze (who both bat for both sides)). today i’m going to play some monster bash, eat some cafeteria food, and sing some sweet songs. oh yeah, the strike’s over, thanks for the support everyone (except peugot m. coe, appearing in this entry for the third time) and thanks for caving in to our demands^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hbeing fair.

screen printing seminar will go down tuesday at 8pm at my house. email me for directions if you don’t know (then you’lll know). hopefully teaching this seminar will result in a lot more crazy home-made t-shirts and patches of the kind i like. 1×10^5 hits party went off swimmingly, except that i spent $50 on 15 bottles of champagne and did not get reimbursed by anyone save flora and mike. yoni and kevin driscoll and matt carrol lazy genius and shaun the kessler had to leave early to practice for their new supergroup, declining my invitation for them to play in my old room in the barn. in their stead we played loud noisy music for what seemed like a real long time on drums, sax, guitar, contertina, saw, angel trumpets and devil trombones- a litany of noisemakers. so some sour sops missed out and you know who you are. i was hoping to end the strike, being as many clark kids were at my house, but then i found out that number one declined to put up the strike fliers i asked her to put up. how can i end the strike when no one even knows about it? and the fliers were 50% of the reason we were on strike anyway! bah! strike on!

10k (or, for you romans MMMMMMMMMM) hits has been surpassed. 10000 hits party tonite with champagne? also, anyone interested in going to a screen printing seminar (taught by me) next week, email me. i don’t yet know what day it’s going to be on- i have to confer with beth tubb, housemate and skill share coordinator.

last ngith i saw bob (of href="http://www.alienwebshop.com/phil/phil2.html">phil) and dave
(of… dave) perform at some place in new hampshire. their group is called
“ouch, my heart”. says bob, re: the name, “because, who else?”. the club
was a lame and preposterous $10 (i was guest-listed- thanks bob). on the
other hand, the club was all ages and it had lethal weapon 3 pinball
and they sold candy bars that they kept in the fridge with the
drinks. the other bands were “the burning paris” and “the new and
originals” (ex-texas is the reason). TNAO was neither, and i wasn’t so
into the music, but they seemed like awful nice guys. also, the lead
singer looked like scott bacula, maybe more so than dc hardcore adam’s
friend who i call scott bacula (and occasionally “laid bacula”). previous
to the show we ate at a vietnamese noodlarium with a very loud good
looking family. every member of the family was a star, with little girls
running around howling (seriously, howling), fat black dad with mike
leslie glasses, portly white wife and her twin, their gilbert grapish son,
and
every hair on every head sticking straight up like a bottle rocket. it was
a glorious expression. the guy sitting behind us went over and asked them
to be quiet. don’t worry- i “accidentally” stepped on his wife’s
coat. take that! number one drove while i manned the radio and
(barely) the directions and at appropriate times, sang beach boys
songs. we listened to the misfits on the way home. i was
unable to determine how the ex-texas is the reason band was influenced by
the misfits, but again, they seemed like awful nice guys and that goes a
long way with me. incidentally i’m only now getting into the
misfits. geez, where was i in high school?
