yesterday’s stuffed animal was a frog, tonight’s is a can of spraypaint, which i completed while listening to the red sox win the world series on the radio. while i was putting the label on i talked to nicky revs, arrested in boston for obvious reasons and speaking from the back of a paddy wagon.
ok, if i’m going to keep making these stuffed animals every day and posting them, i’m going to need a minor page redesign, followed by perhaps a serious page redesign. anyway, i’m four days behind in posting, but i’m still making one a day. rather than fill up space here how about i link to them until i can figure out a solution? going forwards chronologically starting five days ago up to last night i made
a mole (when trying to make a prarie dog for susie gharamani,
a cat of sorts,
a cassette tape (sort of a transformers tribute i guess), and what is definitely both my laziest and most conceptual work to date,
a shadow of a yet-to-be-made stuffed animal of a person (possibly me).
today i was silkscreening shirts for downhill battle listening to the silver jews, who have so many good lines it’s astounding, mixed in with just enough almost embarrassing rhymes to make it palatable. the past few days? jess and mike and kelpars and i went to see a new print of lon chaney’s “phantom of the opera” with live organist at the beautiful all saints church in downtown worcester. the movie was colorized in the old fashion with solid color washes and i had never seen it before anyway and was delightfully terrified. 13th birthday party for tim houston and i burned him “curse of zounds” and subhumans’ “ep/lp” and iron maiden “number of the beast”. drawing a lot with good rapidograph pens from jamie buckmaster. listening to a lot stuff from ubuweb, especially the 365 days project. my phonograph needle still has not come in the mail. ooh, i gotta leave this desk.
oh yeah, stuffed animal clearing for everything so far at once.
fujichia: the stadiums and the coliseums pertaining to indoors and outdoors.
i don’t need to make excuses to anyone. last night me and katy from the beehive watched “new york minute”, the olsen twins movie. three observations: the olsen twins (but one especially) look like the female gremlin from gremlins. “new york minute” would be great if instead of starring the olsen sisters, starred the curtin brothers but that goes without saying. no movie with andy richter is all bad.
the day before (the first day of our sourpuss-mark-approved tween film fest) we watched “confessions of a teenage drama queen”, starring lindsay lohan, which was pretty good. there was one part, during the fake band’s after party, that i was sure calvin johnson walked by, but i rewound and it wasn’t him. but why wasn’t it him?
last night’s animal is a sort of beaver i guess, his tail a part of mike’s shirt that mike cut off. mike. mike.

ok, i’m running a few days behind on posting the new stuffed animals, but once again, i reiterate, i’m making them one-a-day, not getting three days behind and making three. this fact is paramount.
yesterday mike and i had our beautiful and charming portraits taken by the famous court photographer nadav benjamin. it was pretty fun and we were real cornballs. both of us posed with our toys, in keeping with his unstated “people and their toys” series. i wanted to make mine look like a combination mad magazine clutter-on-clutter / pen and pixel heavily-blinged album cover, but of course the ones i best liked were the ones where my face is obscured. anyway he did them digital (medium-format camera with a digital back!) so i should be getting emails of select few in a couple. mike did some great shots in an oswald stance, with a bb gun and a copy of the marx brothers book “why a duck?”. it was fun but weird, and thick with odd psychic ramifications, every picture a lie of sorts and all that.
now a word about the animals from the past few: now, it seems i made the same animal twice, a hand with an eye in it. this is not the case. they are both very specific hands. one, with the eye on the palm, is my friend yvette’s hand– she has a tattoo on her palm. the other, with the eye on the back of the hand, is dan wars’ hand– that’s where his eyeball tattoo is. incidentally i don’t think dan and yvette know each other. and oh yeah, both hands are blue for santa cruz.
shit, it’s late and me with errands to do.
fujichia: pretty and thick.
fujichia: peace to all the earths.

oh man, last night we went to see the worcester radical cheerleaders open for bitch (previously of the duo bitch and animal) at clarku and christ what a performance. clad in red and black dancewear (underpants and tights) they did the standard anti bush stuff, but rather than preach to the converted (clark is a real lefty school) they busted out a ton of queer and sex-positive numbers. totally ruled. the troupe this year is huge. last year it was just marge, johanna, xtina, beckx, and kara, this year there’s like fifteen more! does anyone have a drum machine they can donate to marge madigan so she can start her well-deserved career as a party rapper?

drinking yerba mate with maple syrup that’s right. we had a projects fair the other day at my house, going around giving talks on our various projects in their different stages of completion. my talk was on the jacob’s software project, which is proceeding nicely thank you. also andrew and kpars and i had swampwater and boy was it gross (drink a 40 down to the label and refill with “something blue”). helped andrew move more and jenine as well, she gave me a bunch of garbage pail kids so ok. animals from yesterday and the day before, in reverse order: a six-legged four-eyed elephant a sort of dude red and black in admiration with belt. the elephant picture doesn’t show the beautiful detail but what you do want for nothing anyway?
fujichia: all of russia can’t get enough.

today me and kpars helped andrew move to providence. while i was of course happy to help (i help everyone move), i was not happy to see him go. he’s moving to a really amazing house with jenine that’s pretty much inside of roger williams park- it’s a really nice house, but i wish he was moving into a real shithole so he’d want to move back.
yesterdays animal, pictured here, is a colony of tube worms, deep-sea worms that live off of bacteria found only in ultra-hot hydrothermal vents. they are one of the only creatures on earth that does not get energy even indirectly from the sun. information here and a better picture here.

ok, so here’s the stuffed animals for the three days previous, and if you doubt that i’m actually making one a day, just look at the poor quality of these little fellows. first is a millipede with a single brass eye, then a snake that got run over, thena wizard. the snake is based on an actual snake in the road as i biked home the other night, its head and body crushed, its tail still waving lazily in the air crossing out its own name. my model is just two pieces of fabric stapled together (someone was asleep in the room with the sewing machine). the wizard is pretty good but it doesn’t stand up. as a tribute to cf he has an acorn pattern on his back. additionally, he’s wearing orange flares.
also in the past few days, andrew and i watched more movies: dead alive, and a documentary about leigh bowery. dead alive was a very exuberant gore fest that i enjoyed thouroughly, made by the same director who made lord of the rings, you know. the leigh bowery movie was absolutely fascinating. ostensibly a fashion designer, he really only made costumes for himself, super-elaborate outfits that transformed him into some sort of abstraction of a person, wildy inventive and terrifying.
tonight’s show in new bedford was pretty busted. on the way there mike and little andrew and i got pretty pumped, even singing a broadway-style song about new bedford. when we got to the show it was another story. first we found that it wasn’t a show so much as a party, which means no one paying attention to the music or paying the musicians. adding insult to injury, i found i wasn’t on the bill because they “thought i wasn’t coming”, (even though i called for directions earlier in the week). initially they told me that there wasn’t any room for me but then decided that i could play for 20 minutes, to seven people paying attention and fifteen drinking beer loudly. mike and i drew caricatures and we sold a pin, so that’s a big $6 back, making our net loss for the show $8 with gas prices as they are. new bedford looks like a nice town, and lee says that place really isn’t representative, but tonight’s show (or party, or whatever) was a bummer.
i made a stuffed animal today, and yesterday and the day before, but i don’t have the energy to take pictures of them right now.
i have a show at an art space in new bedford, on pleasant st.. also, i have no way, right now, of getting there. anyone want to go from worcester to new bedford with me? or i could take the bus to providence then go from there, so does anyone from providence want to go visit lee kudzubiak and watch me sing some songs at some sort of art show about which i have no practical information other than we should be there at 7:30?
yesterday’s animal, completed while watching “ator the fighting eagle” again, is a cat, seen on its back toying with a diplodocus, for scale.
i found my wallet, missing for four months, with the id and the phone card and everything. it was in my other pants. well, my other other pants.
last night me and andrew and mike rode to the bijou to see texas chainsaw massacre. the only problem was that it was a one-night engagement for the night before. wah wah. so we went to beautiful jenny’s instead, met up with aryder and cruised to the WAG for an art opening if you can believe it and it was weird which should be no surprise. there were boring rock bands playing, there was a keg, it was weird (although i really like jacob knight’s paintings). today found mike and i back at the wag, with my mom in tow, for the ANT craftsfair, which was slow and quiet, and in need of retooling, and i have my thinking cap on.
dan wars called yesterday to book me for that reputable cesspool Bloodstains Across Somerville, on november 9th, and to point out how said venue is featured in a recent boston phoenix front page story (which also name drops slickpig, aka nathie, who was in my movie “dracula at borgo pass”). woop woop!

me and tim, as promised, and with little andrew as well, went to the worcester art museum this morning only to find my favorite paintings behind locked doors in rooms to be renovated. the worcester art museum has a great permanent collection that they’re just sleeping on. it’s a crime. some dutch tv show was in the museum filming and tim and i were on camera appreciating the paintings and subtley giving the camera the finger. andrew and i earlier in the week watched a documentary about ray johnson, who died mysteriously i guess. boy were we delighted to find him (or a very suspicious facsimile) working the desk at the worcester art museum! what a prankster! when we went back to confront him about his fake drowning, we found he had disappeared. typical.
today’s animal is a hydra. dog-bodied, with a head of seven snakes. i know, i know. there are those among you who say “no dog’s body.”. i say “no, dog’s body.”. crafts fair at the wag tomorrow from noon to 5.
