last night purely by chance i got to hang out with a bunch of tall women in a series of low-key hang out sessions. the most notable session perhaps was me, SA, getzendanner, and nik perry (who is tall but not a woman) eating ice cream in a graveyard at midnight like criminals. the graveyard was the rural cemetary here in worcester, which is a beautiful spot during the day and at night is genuinely haunted, but haunted by a living creature– this lady who mel used to work with and who hates mel and works 80 hours a week and sleeps in the cemetary NO JOKE.
today i really enjoyed looking at . today i really enjoyed hanging out with scully at the store. today i really enjoyed drinking a glass of water. today i immediately became dead tired and took a nap on the floor of my room and woke up in the exact same posture so well rested i almost couldn’t believe it.
i’m really psyched on the internet release scheme right now, especially because at this point i’m chugging through what i think are the annoyinger releases, and having them on the internet forever for free means a greater possibility that people that might like them might find them. also i think i finally might’ve worked out the more obvious kinks and fixed shitty weirdnesses so hey dan, before i try to burn you a cd of the cat and bird hospital album, try again clicking on download entire album zipped and see what happens, hopefully it’ll download a .zip file to your harddrive, which should open right up and then the juicy pulp. also hopefully i fixed that problem whereby you try to stream the album and it plays each song three times through before moving on. if anybody has any other usability problems or suggestions i sure would appreciate a polite line.

today (monday) i did some for serious room cleaning. my room (and everything in my life) had become so cluttered that the clutter was oppressive– no longer like a garden overflowing, it had become more like long rows of towering compost. now, i have floor space, i can see everything at once in a nice vertical arrangement, i’m putting in a nice drawing desk and working on my music creation station– i feel like the bat this close to biting a frog / world in the face (see picture). oh, i also took some internet minutes to search for a workaround for an officially unsupported OS X scanner driver workaround, and i found it, so now the busted scanner i got from mattf is fully operational, if slow. the workaround is called , it’s not perfect, and the standalone part of it doesn’t work for me, but it does make photoshop recognize, so that’s what it is.
sylvan went away for two weeks and i’m borrowing her vegetable juicer. i’ve been drinking a lot of carrot juice and i’m well on my way to turning orange, which happens.

the night the other night in providence was not without its worries but ultimately pretty good. the movie show was great- some of the movies were kind of boring, but a lot were really great, especially “timepiece” (1965) by jim henson, which was great non-puppet animation and “everywhere at once” (1985) by alan berliner, which was a rapid montage of continuing momentum. oh, and especially good was “a servant of his majesties royal navy reads excerpts from ‘my secret life’ by anonymous” by matt carroll (2007), which was epic, and maybe we can get him to put it online or something. following the movie our good captain lord carroll appeared in costume and read from the table of contents to the delight of all.
following the movie we all made our ways over to summer camp for their last show ever (on account of getting evicted). before we arrived, the guy downstairs pulled the fire alarm, but all the happened was the fire department people drove over, didn’t say anything, and turned it off. so later in the night he called the cops, who arrived in the middle of the band that was playing just before i was going to play (by this time it’s already 2am, and all i’ve been doing since 11 is pacing around, and drawing on the walls to keep occupied). well, people start clearing out, jambuck is absent mindedly strumming an acoustic guitar he found, then out of no where he starts playing one of my songs, so i pick up a wrench as a microphone and we play my whole set like that- me telling him what key the song is in, and him getting everything perfect right off the bat. i tried to end everything on a positive note with a cover of “power of thy sword” by manowar: “let us drink to the battles we’ve lived and we’ve fought, celebrate the pain and havoc we have wrought”. but honestly, i’m trying not to wish i were in halcyon times, guys…
oh, xina took the whole night! i look pretty stupid, so it goes.
