a blue dress for intuition

yesterday me and kevin on earth had the cool realization that neither of us could remember the name of a certain star wars character. sometimes i’m searching my brain for a fact, and it’s stressful, to think that it (the fact)’s in there (the brain) with no good way to access it. in this case it was a relief– there’s no practical need for me to have the guy’s name, and if i needed it i could look it up SO fast, and there’s that farcical idea that i made room for another fact (neuro dudes- is this true or at least kinda or at least yes/if // no/but?). anyway, like i said: cool.

last night loading up the pod with music from the excellent webpage old weird america, which goes song by song through the american anthology of american music and posts complementary tracks in two categories: more by artist and the same song slightly tweaked by a billion other people. the anthology is super super super SUPER good, and i strongly recommend getting it (whichhowever you can– these are songs i sing and think about all the time. ESPECIALLY NECESSARY if you’re into nu folk, planet eggs, riot flarp. lately i’ve been really into chubby parker, about whom we know almost nothing!

tomorrow work/death and pedestrian deposit play at dissident castile soap company, with zerfallt and EARN.

also tomorrow is free comic book day, which i’m SIKED on because the drawn and quarterly book is a john stanley NANCY / MELVIN THE MONSTER split book. stanley took over the writes and draws from bushmiller on the nancy comic, and wrote the bulk of LITTLE LULU. d&q has two nice stanley reprint books coming out in the next few months that will probably be $30 each, so start scheming how you’re gonna land that much credit at the comic book place. also coming from d&q this year is (finally) a book of r sikoryak‘s classics illustrateds! which are all INCREDIBLE what if’s like “WHAT IF bob kane created crime and punishment?” “WHAT IF jack davis drew wuthering heights as an ec horror comic?” “WHAT IF charles schultz drew (kafka’s) metamorphosis?” “WHAT IF the story of genesis starred dagwood and blondie as adam and eve?”. rs has the tightest no-style– an incredibley complete destroyer. also look for a new king cat book, and a huge marc bell book. all in all, plenty of $30 books to keep me in peanut butter sandwiches for months… marc bell is a known snow ghost fan…

oh yeah, and halfway into writing the first paragraph i remembered the guy’s name. i’m not going to say what it is though, as kevin may be reading this.
