last night i had a totally banal dream in which i told sasha that i added her new cdr’s metadata to cddb (which, in the waking world, i did). she gave very light thanks, which is appropriate– typing up the song names etc on your friend’s cds is like holding a door open and thanks larger than a head nod are not neccessary.
today i’m listening to that cdr (Coppertone – “Midnight is the Garden of Good and Evil”, here’s a selection via adventure hippies), also symarip (which you can watch on youtube always with excellent skinhead slideshows).
picked up the new noise nomads record the other day, using money i got from selling a rare metallica record on ebay. records to records, funk to funky. the record (the noise nomads record) is called “to live as jackals”, it’s good, it’s on pink vinyl (which rules), and it features mikey hot sauce laughing and talking. that’s right, amidst all the rumble and scree you can clearly discern mikey laffing and saying “totally”. also with liner notes by “clean tom” aka CF, notable because he also wrote the liner notes to the second lazy magnet box set! and it’s dedicated to donald ayler– YES!!!!! so that’s all the incidental stuff- what does it sound like? you know… music.
word is born, gerl- coffee with coconut milk is good. there are two styles here: 1, you pour the coconut milk in the cup first, then the coffee, and the coffee stirs as it pours, and everything is nice. 2, you pour the coffee as always and then pour in the coconut milk like it’s any other beverage whitener- one of two things will happen depending on quality: a, it will sit on top of the beverage like marshmallow fluff, which is pleasant to look at, even though now you have to stir it. b, it will dissolve not all the way good, but into particulate matter, that will swirl around in the cup like a cybele collins drawing. sugar to taste!
for a while i was splurging on the whatever coffee from the coffee place, now i’m into bustelo, the cheap + good brand from price rite that has a two-color lady logo where sometimes the lips are misregistered and it looks like she’s saying HMMMMMMMMMMMM but… enticing? i also like that the packaging recommends putting cinnamon in it, which i also recommend (nicky revs told me that cinnamon helps to even out glycogen spiking, so now when i eat sugar (less often than before) i try to also eat cinnamon. this is on account of my resolution: Anything For The Brain).
site’s been down… thanks 2 sarah “all-righter” for being like “what’s up with the website?”. me? i’ve been winterizing the homestead, or trying to anyway, plus going through my papers and scanning pretty much everything… for the archives. also drinking coffee with coconut milk, eating steamed bread, and listening to biggie again/still.
